Antique Armand Marseille Bisque Head Doll with Kid Leather Body – Early 20th Century

Antique German bisque shoulder head doll by Armand Marseille, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century. The doll has a finely modelled bisque head with painted features and fixed dark eyes, typical of Armand Marseille production of this period. There is no pate present. The wig appears to be original to the doll or a period-correct replacement consistent with the era. 

The head is attached to a traditional kid leather body with jointed limbs. The leather body shows appropriate age-related wear and patina consistent with over a century of use.The doll is dressed in later clothing, including a cream cotton dress with lace trim and bonnet, which are not original to the doll but are sympathetic in style. Shoes and socks are later. A good representative example of an Armand Marseille doll, suitable for collectors, display, or film and theatrical prop use.

Antique condition. Bisque head is free from cracks or repairs, with light surface wear commensurate with age. Fixed eyes. No pate. Wig appears original or period-correct. Kid leather body shows wear, scuffs, and surface losses consistent with age and use. Clothing and shoes are later replacements and show wear. Overall stable and presentable.
