An original early 20th century enamel advertising sign promoting Iron Jelloids, a well-known proprietary iron tonic marketed in Britain during the interwar period. The sign carries the bold red ground with white serif lettering reading “Take Iron Jelloids now and then; The Tonic for women; The Tonic for men (and children)”, a striking and confident piece of period pharmaceutical advertising. Iron Jelloids were produced and distributed by Scott & Bowne Ltd and sold widely through chemists and pharmacies. The long horizontal format suggests use above shelving or behind a pharmacy counter. Edge wear, enamel losses and surface rust confirm this as a genuine working shop sign rather than a later reproduction. A visually strong survivor with excellent typography and social history interest.
Size/Dimensions

Condition
Original unrestored condition. The sign shows enamel loss, surface scratching, rusting to edges and fixing points, and general wear consistent with age and prolonged indoor commercial use. The remaining enamel is stable and glossy. All wear is commensurate with age and adds to the authenticity and display appeal.
