Heart
This rare antique enamel tray advertises Palethorpes’ Royal Cambridge Sausages and would have originally been used in a butcher’s shop or grocer’s counter during the 1920s or 1930s. Made from pressed metal with a white vitreous enamel coating, the tray features bold black lettering on both long sides and rounded corners, with side cut-outs for handling or ventilation. Its utilitarian shape and striking typography make it a stand-out example of early 20th-century British food advertising. Originally designed to display or serve sausages over ice or cooling slabs, it now makes a superb display piece for a kitchen, café, deli, or vintage collection.
