An authentic 19th century Grodnertal wooden doll, featuring the distinctive painted “tuck comb” hairstyle for which these dolls are best known. Made in the Grodnertal region of Germany, these dolls were carved and painted by hand, with jointed shoulders and hips that allow them to sit and pose.

This example has a finely hand-painted face with grey-blue eyes, red lips, and soft rosy cheeks. The painted hair is swept back, topped with a yellow and red tuck comb.
