An unusual antique Country House squirrel cage, handmade from wood and retaining its original wire-fronted run, nesting chamber, sliding access hatch and detachable side compartment. Handmade from timber and iron, this fascinating survivor offers a rare glimpse into rural and estate life during the late Victorian and early twentieth century period.

The cage features an enclosed nesting area to the rear, a wire-fronted exercise run, a sliding inspection hatch and a detachable side box, believed to have been used for feeding or access.
