Victorian Edwardian O.N.T. Silk Finish Four Cord Wooden Thread Reel 9600yd
An original Victorian to Edwardian industrial wooden thread reel by O.N.T. (Our New Thread), produced by J. & P. Coats, one of the most important thread manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This substantial mill reel retains its original red paper label marked “Silk Finish Four Cord, 9600 yards, No. 24,” indicating its use in commercial textile production. These large reels were mounted on factory machinery and supplied to textile mills for high-volume manufacturing. The reel is turned from solid wood and retains a significant quantity of its original thread, with excellent colour and strong visual appeal. Authentic textile mill reels of this scale and condition are increasingly sought after by collectors, interior designers, and prop stylists. An excellent decorative object for sewing rooms, studios, or industrial-inspired interiors.
