A charming antique English ceramic pie funnel dating from the late Victorian to Edwardian period, circa 1890–1910.
Made in white glazed earthenware, this unusual example features a broad, gently sloping flange, a short central chimney and a series of ventilation holes beneath the rim. The front bears the distinctive black transfer-printed circular trademark reading 'Roe's Patent Rosebud'.
Pie funnels were placed in the centre of traditional meat and fruit pies to support the pastry crust and allow steam to escape during baking, helping prevent the filling from bubbling over.
A lovely surviving example of traditional English kitchenalia, particularly appealing to collectors of antique baking equipment and country kitchen accessories.

In well-used antique condition, with considerable character from more than a century of use.
