An original 1930s Art Deco car radiator mascot by Desmo of Birmingham, depicting an elegant nude female figure in a dramatic forward-diving pose.
Beautifully modelled with outstretched arms, swept-back hair and a streamlined silhouette, the chromium-plated figure captures the movement and styling associated with the Art Deco period.
Manufactured by Desmo Ltd, a Birmingham company renowned for producing distinctive motoring accessories and decorative radiator mascots during the interwar years.
The figure is mounted on a polished black stone display base and bears the original DESMO maker's mark on the back of the statue, confirming its manufacture by the Birmingham company.
A lovely example of British Art Deco design, appealing to collectors of early motoring memorabilia, car mascots and twentieth-century decorative arts.
Condition
Good vintage condition with a bright chromium-plated finish showing some age-related surface wear and minor blemishes. The stone base has some light surface scratches and small marks consistent with age and use.
Era
