An elegant and highly collectible Art Deco biscuit/pastry box produced by WMF with a ceramic body manufactured by Wächtersbach, Germany, dating from approximately 1910–1930. This beautiful example features the sought-after “Dec. 2194” blue pansy decoration repeated around the body and lid, complemented by original WMF metal mounts, hinged lid and carry handle.
The crisp white ceramic body contrasts beautifully with the vivid cobalt blue floral design, while the nickel-plated metal fittings give the piece its distinctive early 20th century Art Deco styling. A wonderful decorative and functional piece ideal for kitchenalia collectors, Art Deco interiors, sewing storage, keepsakes or display.
An increasingly desirable example of collaborative German design.
