An elegant and increasingly hard-to-find Art Deco teapot stand or trivet produced by WMF in collaboration with Wächtersbach Keramik, Germany, circa 1910–1930.
This beautifully designed piece features the highly desirable blue pansy decoration known as “Dec. 2194”, arranged in a circular floral garland against an ivory ceramic ground. The ceramic insert is mounted within its original WMF nickel-plated gallery frame, giving the piece a refined architectural appearance typical of early German Art Deco design.
Designed as a heat stand for a teapot or coffee pot, it would originally have formed part of a coordinated WMF/Wächtersbach tea or coffee service. Today it works equally well as a decorative display piece, small serving stand or collector’s cabinet item.
A particularly attractive example for collectors of WMF metalware, Wächtersbach ceramics, Art Deco tableware or German decorative arts.
