Early 20th Century Chadwick’s Sewing Cottons Shop Display Cabinet with Thread
An original Chadwick’s Sewing Cottons haberdashery shop counter display cabinet in polished wood with two long drawers and inset glass advertising panels. The cabinet retains its original reverse-painted lettering reading “Chadwick’s” and “Sewing Cottons,” a classic example of British retail branding from one of the country’s most important historic thread manufacturers. Both drawers open smoothly using their original period metal handles and still contain a quantity of original Chadwick’s thread and mending cotton cards, adding authenticity and collector appeal. These original contents enhance its value as a genuine working shop display rather than an empty survivor. The lower drawer glass panel has a crack, but remains intact and displays well. This is an authentic and increasingly scarce haberdashery shop-fitting, ideal for collectors, sewing enthusiasts, interior display, or retail presentation.
