Victorian Ceramic Bread Plate ‘Our Daily Bread Give Us This Day’

A lovely Victorian ceramic bread plate featuring raised moulded wheat sheaf decoration and hand-painted blue inscriptions reading “Our Daily Bread” and “Give Us This Day” around the rim. The wording references the traditional biblical phrase and is paired with richly detailed wheat motifs symbolising harvest and sustenance.

The plate has a textured basketweave-style border with ochre edging and a creamy white glaze with beautiful age-related crazing throughout. Originally intended as a bread serving plate, this piece now displays wonderfully in a farmhouse kitchen, country interior or collection of Victorian pottery and kitchenalia.
