A lovely vintage Dewhurst’s Sylko “Three Shells” Machine Twist ceramic display spool, with bright orange thread-effect decoration and a colourful Dewhurst’s Sylko label to the top.

This is a decorative ceramic advertising piece made in the form of a cotton reel or thread spool, most likely produced as a shop display, promotional item or later decorative collector’s piece for sewing and haberdashery enthusiasts. The top features the Dewhurst’s Sylko Three Shells Machine Twist 40 label in red, blue, cream and gold, while the body is glazed to resemble wound orange cotton thread.
