An original early 20th century Waterman’s advertising figure, promoting the famous “Ideal Fountain Pen.” The bust depicts a jovial gentleman opening his waistcoat to reveal a pen, with the slogan “His Bosom Friend – Waterman’s Ideal Fountain Pen” moulded into the plinth.
Made of painted plaster, these figures were produced for shop display and are now rare survivors of early advertising history. This example has clear signs of age and paint loss but retains excellent character and presence. Highly collectible among advertising, writing, and fountain pen enthusiasts.
