Vintage Aunt Lucy Bear Gabrielle Designs 1978

A rare vintage Gabrielle Designs Aunt Lucy Bear, dated 1978 on the original label. This is a wonderfully characterful example, with grey plush fur, pink felt paw pads, a black nose, dark eyes, black hat, striped shawl, checked skirt, bloomers with real Peruvian coins pinned into the pocket, and black felt shoes. The wire-rimmed glasses are replacements, as is the cream inner shawl.

This is a scarce and highly displayable Aunt Lucy Bear with lovely presence and charm. A wonderful piece for collectors of Gabrielle Designs, Paddington and Aunt Lucy bears, British character toys, and vintage soft toys.
