Singer Model 20 Child’s Sewing Machine – Chain Stitch Miniature c.1910
This is a Singer Model 20 child’s sewing machine, one of the most iconic miniature chain-stitch machines ever produced. Introduced in the early 1900s, the Model 20 was designed as a functional teaching machine, allowing children to learn sewing on a scaled-down but fully operational Singer. Collectors prize these early versions for their cast iron body, classic black enamel finish, smooth action and the distinctive hand crank.
This example presents beautifully, with clear gold SINGER lettering, original enamel in good condition and clean metalwork that retains a pleasing antique patina. The crank turns smoothly and the machine displays exceptionally well. It is an ideal piece for collectors of miniature sewing machines, vintage toy enthusiasts, interior stylists or anyone who appreciates early Singer engineering. Accessories shown in the photographs are included.
