A rare and impressive antique double-sided shop sign advertising Teas & Coffee. Hand-painted with bold brown lettering outlined in green on a yellow ground, housed within its original moulded wooden frame. The sign has real presence and is unusually heavy, a true piece of early 20th-century trade advertising built to last. Each side shows a different patina, with one more vibrant and the other faded from years of exposure, giving the sign a unique depth of character. An exceptional statement piece for collectors, decorators, or retail display.

Condition

The sign is in solid original condition with substantial weight. Paint loss, surface wear, scratches, fading, and marks consistent with age and outdoor use are present. The wooden frame shows knocks, scuffs, and old wear. One side retains stronger colour, the reverse has more fading. No structural weakness noted – a very robust, heavy sign with excellent patina.
