Antique Magnet Brand Antiseptic Chalk Block Dog Grooming Box c.1900–1920

An original early 20th century Magnet Brand Antiseptic Chalk Block, complete with its original printed outer box and inner wrapped chalk block. Produced by Walshs Ltd of Blackburn and Liverpool, this item was intended for dry cleaning and grooming dogs, cats and other animals, and features extensive period text, illustrations of dog breeds, testimonials, and usage instructions across all sides. The box displays beautifully, with strong typography, warm ochre colouring, and charming canine imagery typical of Edwardian pet-care advertising. The chalk block remains present inside its paper wrap, making this a particularly appealing survival. A rare and highly collectable piece of British veterinary and pet-care ephemera, ideal for display, collectors, or film and prop use.
