Antique Blanche Dressmaker Bronze Plaque Wooden Shop Sign

A very attractive antique bronze trade plaque mounted onto a wooden backing board, reading “Blanche Dressmaker Etc.” The lettering is slightly indented into the bronze and picked out in a pale/cream finish, giving the plaque a smart, traditional shop sign appearance. The bronze has a lovely dark aged surface with wear, rubbing, scratches and oxidised patina, while the wooden backing has bevelled edges and old fixing holes from previous display.

Condition

Good antique condition with age-related wear throughout. The bronze plaque has surface scratches, rubbing, oxidation, dark patina, small marks and wear to the pale lettering. The lettering is slightly indented rather than raised. The wooden backing has knocks, scuffs, old screw holes, staining and historic fixing marks to the reverse. There is one empty fixing hole visible on the front left side, with screws present in the other corner/side areas.
