Late 19th Century Miniature Wooden Doll Hand Painted Folk Art 2.5cm
An original late 19th century miniature wooden doll with hand carved and painted features. The doll has a carved wooden body with articulated arms and painted facial details including eyes, brows, and distinctive red cheeks.
The figure is finely carved from wood, with simple jointed arms and painted detailing typical of miniature dolls made between 1880 and 1910. The head and torso are carved as a single piece, with separate arms attached using fine pins. The back of the head is painted black, a feature commonly found on late Victorian miniature wooden dolls.
Miniature dolls of this type were often made in Germany and Northern Europe for dollhouses, toy sets, and novelty use. Their small scale and handmade construction make surviving examples increasingly scarce.
A charming and authentic Victorian miniature doll, ideal for collectors, dollhouse display, or cabinet of curiosities presentation.
