A 1907 illustrated edition of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen, published by J. M. Dent & Co., London, with New York distribution by E. P. Dutton & Co. This is the first illustrated colour edition, containing twenty-four coloured illustrations by C. E. Brock, whose work is closely associated with Edwardian Jane Austen publishing. The book is bound in its original decorative green cloth with gilt Art Nouveau–style floral decoration and gilt lettering to the spine and upper board. The illustrated title page is dated 1907. There is a contemporary gift inscription dated June 1st 1911, providing clear early provenance. A highly attractive and collectible Edwardian Austen volume, equally suitable for a private collection or decorative display.

Condition
Good antique condition. The original cloth binding shows rubbing, fading, and wear to edges and corners, with softening and some loss to the gilt, particularly at the spine. Internally the binding remains sound. Pages show age toning, scattered spotting, and light offsetting from the illustrated plates, all consistent with age. All colour plates are present. No loose or missing pages observed
