A beautiful and highly collectible WWI sweetheart pincushion in a heart shape, adorned with elaborate beadwork and patriotic motifs. This example features the South Wales Borderers regimental badge printed in the centre, surrounded by hand-sewn beads, sequins, and coloured decorations, including “A Happy Christmas” ribbons dated 1917. These sentimental pieces were handmade by soldiers or by loved ones at home and sent as tokens of affection. Backed in pale fabric with pom-pom trim, it remains a powerful piece of wartime folk art.
