Antique ceramic advertising plate for Brown & Polson’s Raising Powder / Paisley Flour, with black transfer lettering and a raised moulded border. A lovely early advertising piece, ideal for collectors of Victorian/Edwardian kitchenalia, advertising ceramics, baking-related advertising, shop display, or period pantry styling. The reverse has a printed maker’s mark for Boulton Ltd, Burslem, England.

Condition

Used antique condition with age-related wear. There is crazing throughout, staining/discolouration, surface marks and age-related dirt to the glaze. There is a visible crack running from the lower edge into the plate, with associated staining, as shown in the photographs. There are also some small marks and wear around the rim. Still displays beautifully.

Late Victorian to Edwardian, likely c.1890s–1910s
