A lovely antique wooden butter stamp, carved with a rose and leaf design to the circular face. The design is framed by a deeply carved outer border, giving it strong decorative appeal.

The stamp has a rounded turned handle to the reverse and would originally have been used to impress a pattern into butter. Today it makes a beautiful piece of country kitchenalia, treen or dairy-related collectable, ideal for display in a farmhouse kitchen, pantry, dresser or rustic interior.

The rose motif is particularly attractive and has a charming folk-art feel, making this a very decorative example of traditional wooden kitchenware.

Condition

Good antique condition with age-related wear, surface marks, small knocks and darker areas to the wood, as shown. The carved face remains attractive and well defined. Some general wear to the handle and reverse, consistent with age and use. Displays beautifully.
