This antique Craven’s Pure Confectionery wooden box is a highly collectible example of early 20th-century British advertising. Manufactured by M. A. Craven & Son Ltd. of York, the box features bold navy and cream graphics promoting the Ebor Confectionery Works, with the proud tagline “Established Over 100 Years.” The interior lid retains a striking, well-preserved printed label, while the exterior side panels show signs of use and age but remain clearly legible. These boxes were used to transport and display sweets and chocolates in shops, making them a charming survivor of Edwardian retail history. It now makes a fantastic display piece for vintage kitchen décor, retail styling, or use as a prop in period productions.

Condition
The box shows wear consistent with age and use. The paper labels are worn and scratched in places, particularly on the front panel, with losses to the printed surface, but the branding and lettering remain visible. The wooden structure is sound, though the lid sits unevenly and has a slight gap due to age-related movement. The interior is clean and has an attractive natural patina. Overall, it is a well-worn but solid example with excellent vintage character and display appeal.

Circa 1900–1920 (Edwardian to early interwar period)
