Vintage Flora Macdonald Needle Display Cabinet Abel Morrall Haberdashery Drawers
A beautifully preserved Abel Morrall “Flora Macdonald” wooden needle display cabinet dating from the late 1930s to early 1950s, now approaching true antique age. Originally used as a countertop display in British haberdashery shops, this wooden unit was designed to present and organise sewing needle packets, with its distinctive sloped advertising panel and four drawers with original wooden pulls. Inside one drawer is the original printed Flora Macdonald divider label, a rare surviving feature that adds significant historical interest.
The cabinet has a warm, rich patina and the gentle wear expected from an early 20th-century shop fitting. It remains strong, stable, and fully functional, with excellent visual appeal. Ideal for collectors of sewing memorabilia, vintage shop displays, and early haberdashery tools, this piece also makes an exceptional decorative item for sewing rooms, retail styling, studios, or period décor.
