A scarce antique advertising ironstone slab with bold black transfer lettering reading "PURE LARD," produced for Berry & Warmington Ltd, Liverpool, Weighwell Service. These heavy ceramic slabs were used in grocers’ shops during the interwar years to display and cut lard, margarine, and butter. This example features its original impressed and transfer-printed maker’s mark to the interior. A striking piece of English advertising ware and highly sought-after by collectors of antique kitchenalia, dairy ware, and shop display.
Dating from circa 1920s–1930s, this slab combines practical history with strong visual appeal, making it ideal for collectors, decorators, or as a statement piece in a vintage kitchen.

Condition
Good antique condition with age-related wear. The slab shows glaze crazing, some surface marks, and small firing imperfections typical of period ironstone. There is a chip to one corner and hairline cracks as photographed, plus light staining and kiln spotting inside. Transfer lettering remains bold and legible with minor rubbing.
