An unusual antique white ironstone scale plate made for Josiah Fisher & Son of Banham, Norfolk, featuring a beautifully detailed black transfer of Lady Justice holding her scales above the company name.
Originally made for use with commercial weighing scales, the plate has a practical rectangular form with rounded corners and a raised back edge. The crisp monochrome transfer and simple white ironstone make it particularly decorative, while the named local retailer adds further interest as a piece of historic shop and trade ware.
Dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1900–1910, this is a lovely example of early 20th-century commercial kitchenalia and would display beautifully in a kitchen, pantry or collection of antique shop fittings.

There are light surface marks, occasional small spots and minor age-related wear consistent with its original commercial use. The reverse has faint impressed/printed factory marks and a small partial black mark near one corner.
