Antique Leather Drum Pin Cushion – Victorian Sewing Accessory

A charming antique sewing accessory in the form of a miniature drum, with a brown possibly leather-covered cylindrical body and cream fabric pin cushions to both ends.

The body is decorated with stitched geometric panels, while the rims are finished with striking red-and-black zigzag decoration, giving the piece a particularly attractive folk-art quality. Drum-shaped pin cushions were a recognised novelty form among 19th-century sewing accessories, combining a practical pin cushion with a decorative miniature object.
