A scarce early 20th century advertising ashtray featuring a hand-painted ceramic figure in striped trousers pushing a barrel, inscribed faintly “LEMON HART”. The base carries the slogan “The Golden Spirit” in script across the front.

Made as a point-of-sale advertising item for pubs and bars, this ceramic figure promoted Lemon Hart rum — one of the most famous British spirit brands. Rare survivors like this are highly collectible among breweriana and advertising enthusiasts.

Condition

Displays well but with notable wear. Original painted surface with flaking and losses. The head has been reattached at some stage; stable but visible on close inspection. Minor chips elsewhere, structurally sound overall.
