A charming antique treen butter dish surround, carved with the word “BUTTER” across the top and fitted with a blue and white ceramic insert.

The wooden surround has a simple country treen form, with bold carved lettering and light incised decoration around the outer edge. The ceramic dish is not original to the wooden surround, but sits well within the frame and gives the piece an attractive blue and white kitchenalia look.

A lovely decorative piece for a country kitchen, dresser, pantry display or butter dish collection.

Condition

Good antique condition with age-related wear, marks and patina to the wooden surround. The ceramic insert is a later replacement and has light age-related marks and glaze speckles.
