A charming antique treen butter dish surround, carved with the word “BUTTER” across the top and fitted with a replacement blue and white ceramic insert.

The wooden surround has a simple country treen form, with bold raised lettering, textured carved detail behind the letters, small flower motifs and incised leaf-style decoration around the border. The ceramic dish is not original to the wooden surround, but it sits well within the frame. A lovely decorative piece for a country kitchen, dresser, pantry display or butter dish collection.

Condition


Good antique/vintage condition with age-related wear, marks and patina to the wooden surround. There are small surface marks and signs of use, as shown. The ceramic insert is a later replacement and has age-related marks, glaze speckling and surface wear.
