A beautifully carved antique wooden butter roller with a distinctive double-band leaf motif. This quality piece of treen kitchenalia features deep hand-cut carving around the rotating drum, producing a continuous decorative pattern when rolled across freshly made butter. The carving is bold and well defined, with attractive geometric borders framing the stylised leaf design. The shaped handle sits above a freely turning roller and shows a rich, even patina developed through age and use. A strong decorative example, ideal for collectors of dairy antiques, farmhouse interiors, or food styling and display.

Condition

Very good antique condition with light age-related wear. The roller turns smoothly and the wood is solid throughout. No woodworm. There are natural drying lines and surface marks consistent with age, along with minor historic shrinkage to the roller typical of antique treen. Overall a clean and well-preserved example with excellent colour and patina.
