A small antique strawberry pincushion made from deep red velvet and decorated with tiny gilt metal beads to represent the seeds. The strawberry has a softly segmented form, giving it a plump and naturalistic appearance.

It is finished with faded blue-green textile leaves and a small cream crocheted flower at the top. The combination of velvet, metallic beadwork and hand-worked textile details gives this diminutive pincushion plenty of character.

A charming addition to a collection of strawberry emeries, pincushions, antique haberdashery or early sewing accessories.

Condition

Good antique condition with age-related fading and general surface fibres. The gilt metal beads remain present and show some tarnishing and surface wear consistent with age. The blue-green textile leaves are faded and frayed, while the cream crocheted flower shows discolouration and minor wear. The pincushion remains intact and displays well.
