Antique Weston's Biscuits Advertising Pudding Basin Grimwades c.1920s
An unusual antique advertising pudding basin produced by Grimwades of Stoke-on-Trent for Weston's English Quality Biscuits, dating to approximately the 1920s.
Made from cream-glazed earthenware, the basin features the decorative Weston's English Quality Biscuits trademark on one side, with the company's advertising slogan, 'The Taste Will Tell', printed on the reverse.
Weston's English Quality Biscuits were introduced in Canada in 1922 by George Weston Limited. Inspired by traditional English biscuit-making methods, the range became an important part of the company's early success. The underside bears the black printed Winton Ware, Grimwades, England manufacturer's mark.
A charming survivor of early 20th-century commercial advertising, combining British Staffordshire pottery with Canadian food and retail history. An appealing addition to a collection of antique advertising pottery, traditional kitchenalia or vintage biscuit memorabilia.
