A colourful collection of 12 large vintage glass Christmas baubles, dating from around the mid-20th century.

The set contains a wonderfully varied mixture of jewel-like colours, including turquoise blue, emerald green, amber, copper, gold, silver and cream. Each bauble has its own decorative design, with hand-painted foliage, trailing lines, geometric bands and frosted details.

Their generous size and rich colours make these particularly effective Christmas-tree decorations. They would look wonderful displayed together or mixed with other vintage glass ornaments.

All 12 baubles retain their metal caps and hanging loops. They are presented in a vintage divided card box complete with its lid and tissue paper.

Condition

The baubles are in good vintage condition overall, with fading, spotting, rubbing, tarnishing and areas of wear to the painted and frosted decoration. There is also some age-related deterioration to the internal silvering.

Ten baubles are free from chips, cracks and holes. Two baubles have damage at the neck beneath their metal caps: one orange-red bauble and one olive-gold bauble. Both faults have been photographed closely. The caps remain in place.

All 12 metal caps are present and display age-related tarnishing and wear.

The lidded card box is worn and marked from storage, with creasing, distortion and wear to its internal dividers. Please examine all photographs carefully, as these form an important part of the condition description.
