A superb vintage shop counter display cabinet for Clark’s “Anchor” Fast Stranded Cotton Colors for Embroidery.

The cabinet is made from wood with glazed drawer fronts and sloped upper display sections. The top sign is beautifully printed in green with the Clark’s Anchor branding and anchor motif, while the upper rails are also marked Clark’s Anchor and Fast Colors.

The cabinet has multiple shallow drawers with small metal handles, each divided internally for storing embroidery threads, stranded cottons or shade ranges. It would originally have been used in a haberdashery, draper’s shop or sewing department to display and organise Clark’s Anchor embroidery threads.

A very decorative and practical piece of haberdashery shop display, ideal for collectors, makers, shop fitting displays or studio storage.

Condition

In good vintage condition with age-related wear, marks, scratches and signs of use throughout. The wooden cabinet has a warm colour and displays beautifully. The green lettering is worn in places, particularly on the front rails, but remains attractive and readable. The glazed drawer fronts show age-related marks and reflections, with some internal wear and dust from use. The drawers and compartments are present and usable.
