A charming collection of early wooden cotton reels and machine twist spools, including examples from CWS (Co-operative Wholesale Society) and Acme.

The group includes Lustre Machine Twist and Best Button Hole Twist reels in a range of attractive colours including Apricot, Clematis, purple, cream, drab, peach and orange. Several retain their original colour labels and all feature beautifully printed paper reel ends, making them highly decorative display pieces for sewing collections, haberdashery displays, shop interiors and period styling.

The reels remain wound with their original threads and display wonderfully together as a collection.

Condition

Condition is good vintage condition overall. There is age-related wear, minor marks and fading consistent with use and storage. Some reels have small splits, chips or wear to the wooden ends and a few have holes through the labels as originally intended for display.
