Vintage Eric Horne Wooden Doll in Burgundy Star Dress - 15.5cm

A delightful handcrafted wooden doll by British dollmaker Eric Horne, dressed in a charming burgundy gown decorated with little silver stars.

Standing 15.5 cm tall, this beautifully characterful doll has a hand-painted face with bright blue eyes, rosy cheeks and a little red mouth. Her glossy black bobbed hair is decorated with a pretty burgundy fabric rose.

She has a traditional wooden body with articulated arms and legs, painted cream lower limbs and little red shoes. Her dress features a dusky rose satin bodice and a wonderfully full burgundy net skirt scattered with silver stars, giving her a particularly charming appearance.

Eric Horne was a British craftsman known for his individually made wooden dolls, inspired by traditional wooden peg dolls of the 19th century. His work is admired by collectors of miniature and handcrafted dolls. The doll bears an inscription on the upper back identifying Eric Horne as the maker.
