Vintage PolyOil Oiler Tin Filtrate Leeds Parrot Logo Cycle Machinery Oil Can
A distinctive vintage PolyOil household oil can produced by Filtrate Ltd., Leeds, featuring the iconic parrot logo and bold mid-century industrial graphics. This rectangular white tin retains its original translucent plastic spout and internal feed tube, designed for controlled lubrication of moving parts.
PolyOil was marketed as a general-purpose lubricant suitable for cycles, lawn mowers, garden equipment, locks, hinges, sewing machines and mechanical components. Its slim, precise spout made it ideal for maintaining bicycle chains, hub mechanisms, control cables, and small engines, placing it firmly within the golden age of British cycling and home workshop maintenance.
The colourful parrot branding and clean typography make this an excellent display piece for automobilia collections, vintage cycle workshops, garage interiors, and tool displays. It represents an era when routine maintenance was part of everyday ownership, and branded oil cans like this were essential workshop companions.
